Rainbow Bullseye: Tigerlee's Gaze

The Hebrew word Shalom (שָׁלוֹם) means far more than the absence of conflict. It represents wholeness, safety, health, prosperity, and a deep peace where nothing is missing and nothing is broken.

This captivating portrait was inspired by a snowy Sunday afternoon when Wisconsin artist Michele Wiesen discovered a photograph on social media shared by David Fechter, co-owner of Shalom Wildlife Zoo. The image featured the extraordinary concentric rings within the eyes of a young tiger cub named Tigerlee—a rare and mesmerizing phenomenon David described as a "rainbow bullseye."

Inspired by the striking image, Michele received David's permission to transform the photograph into an original acrylic painting. As the artwork began to take shape, the project evolved into something even more meaningful.

Recognizing an opportunity to help the animals at Shalom Wildlife Zoo, David proposed using the painting to support the ongoing fundraising efforts for Star, the sanctuary's beloved black leopard, whose future home depends on the generosity of supporters.

After completing the painting, Michele generously donated the original artwork to Shalom's Gallery and Venue Facility. She also transferred the reproduction rights to Shalom Wildlife Zoo, allowing prints of Rainbow Bullseye: Tigerlee's Gaze to be offered for sale.

Every print purchased helps support the construction of Star's new, state-of-the-art enclosure, allowing this remarkable piece of art to make a lasting impact beyond the canvas.

Thank you for helping us provide the very best future for the animals who call Shalom Wildlife Zoo home.
